Shawndeana Smith
Regional Coordinator
Shawndeana Smith has been the West Region Coordinator with New Mexico MESA for the past fourteen years. As the West Region Coordinator, Shawndeana carries out the duty of assisting schools in her region to promote culturally diverse students excel in the STEM fields. Shawndeana obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Science and a minor in Chemistry at The University of Arizona in 2004.
Shawndeana has always had a love for animals, especially horses, and from a very young age she chose, as a way of life, to compete at rodeos in the roping and barrel racing events. Today, Shawndeana is a mother of two sons and a daughter and she is a wife who shares her passion for rodeo with her husband as well.
