Betty Chancey
Regional Coordinator

Betty Chancey began her tenure with NM MESA in January 2002 as the first Regional Coordinator for nine schools in the newly created Southeast Region. She now has fourteen schools in the Southeast Region. She is responsible for the planning and coordination of activities for these schools and the supervision of one part time office assistant.

Prior to working for NM MESA, Betty taught Math at Goddard High School and was an adjunct Math teacher at ENMU-Roswell.   Prior to teaching, she was the Director of Financial Aid at Eastern New Mexico University – Roswell. She received her BS and MS from Eastern New Mexico University in Education with a minor in Math. MESA allows her to combine her Administrative skills, teaching experience and her love of working with students.

She loves to read and travel. She and her husband, Sonny, love spending time with their two daughters and son-in-laws, their granddaughter and Great Grandson, Channing! They are the light of their lives.
