Ling is a transplant to New Mexico from the Midwest. Her family moved to the Land of Enchantment in 1998 after falling in love with the diverse terrain, food, and communities.  Ling joined NM MESA in 2017, bringing with her over eighteen years of experience from the nonprofit world.

A first-generation college student, Ling holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics as well as English Literature from the University of Nebraska, and a Master’s in Special Education from the University of New Mexico.  She holds certifications in TESOL and Project Management.  She believes strongly in community investment and spends much of her free time volunteering for various organizations in New Mexico.

Anita has worked her way up through the NM MESA system, starting as a student intern in 2004, she is now the Deputy Director for the organization.  Anita can be seen spearheading all statewide events such as MESA Day and MESA USA.  Her deep love for her state allows you to find her volunteering her additional time with various groups and associations to assure a better way of life for northern New Mexicans.  You can find her out and about doing work with her local Acequia Association and at local events.

Anita began her secondary education journey at Texas A&M in College of Agriculture. Recreation, Park, and Tourism Sciences.  She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from NM Highlands University in Human Performance & Sport, Leisure Services and a Master’s from NM Highlands University in Business Administration.  She has her NM Substitute Teacher’s License and a Certified Professional Meetings Licensure. Anita is champion for education.
