Three NM MESA teams competed today at the Sheraton Uptown for thousands of dollars in award money based on their innovation, teamwork and ability to share their story. The MESA teams were from Albuquerque High School, West Mesa High School and Van Buren Middle Schools. They competed against three other schools from throughout the area with a Rube Goldberg chain reaction theme of “2 + 2 = 4”.
The competition and awards were hosted by the International Test and Evaluation Association & the Directed Energy Professional Society (DEPS). Professionals from around the region attended, cheered on and judged the young challengers. Albuquerque High School students walked away with a top prize of $1000; West Mesa High School and Van Buren Middle School each won $500. It was a fun day of students successfully practicing the art of iteration!
