Donning our 80's throwback gear, NM MESA celebrates 40 years of STEM education!

NM MESA celebrated 40 years of STEM education with an anniversary party at the Anderson Abruzzo International Balloon Museum this week! The night was kicked off by sharing photos from over the past 40 years that highlighted the vast accomplishments of NM MESA throughout the state. Both MESA USA National Engineering Design Competition (NEDC) champion teams from nex+Gen Academy and Chaparral Middle School were highlighted, along with 2023 Guenther Advisor Acheivement Award winning teachers Misty Torres, formerly with Belen High School, and Kate Sanchez from Anton Chico Middle School!
STEM industry partners from Sandia Labs, LANL, Explora, UNM STEM-H, UNM School of Engineering, NM Tech and others were in the room to share our accomplishments since 1982. NM MESA would like to sincerely thank the three generations of MESA students, teachers, parents & families, administrators, legislators and community partners for supporting STEM education in the state!
