Facebook Community Action grant

04/01/2021 –

NM MESA will receive a $10,000 Community Action Grant from Facebook in 2021!  The grant will support the organization’s goal to bridge the digital divide by creating a video campaign series to train students and teachers in digital media skills.

It will allow local Valencia county Middle School teachers to highlight basic technology needs through video/digital media.  Created content will be in partnership with CNM Technology Solutions Labs and supported by Dr. Rodney Sanchez, CNM Ingenuity.  The NM MESA teacher talent featured in this content will be Kenneth Provine and Michael Romero from Valencia Middle School and Juanita Silva from Belen Middle School.  Our goal is to create multiple  3-5 minute digital shorts that help explain basic technology concepts.  STEM content will be shared on our website and also statewide through NM MESA network channels.
