Through the months of November and December, students and teachers in the West region were collaborating to collect items to donate to the elderly of the community.
We had a great turnout and participation from all schools in the West Region! Once all of the items were collected, the NM MESA staff traveled from their remote locations to help distribute the items to the local chapter houses.
The West region is located on parts of the Navajo Nation Reservation where are there are several Chapter Houses that provide resources and assistance to the elderly of their respective communities. On December 17th, NM MESA staff traveled to the Red Rock Chapter House, Tohatchi Chapter House, Crownpoint Chapter House and Thoreau Chapter House to deliver the donated items.
Each Chapter representative was grateful for the many donations and they ensured that many elders would receive the donations before the holidays.
NM MESA would like to thank all the schools, students, teachers, parents, etc. who made this such a spectacular event for the elderly of the community on the Navajo Nation reservation! Great job!
