Students from throughout the state traveled to the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, NM for our annual MESA Day competition! The event, held on Friday, April 20th, focused on STEM solutions through Arduino coding. See the competition website here: NM MESA Day 2018.
The day of competition includes a 10-minute product pitch, a 20-minute technical interview and a poster station that is open to the public for our ‘People’s Choice’ award. Ceremonies concluded with our overall competition winners:
- Chaparral Middle School – Team Cloggo
- nex+Gen Academy – Spizy Boys.
- The People’s Choice award went to Carlos F. Vigil Middle School with 33% of the votes.

High School students were represented from Alamogordo HS, Deming HS, Española Valley HS, Mayfield HS, nex+Gen Academy and Valley HS.
Middle School students were represented from Anton Chico Ms, Carlsbad Intermediate, Carlos F. Vigil MS, Chaparral MS, Ernie Pyle MS, Jefferson MS, Kennedy MS and Red Mountain MS.
