Innoventure fosters the spirit of invention, innovation, and entrepreneurship in New Mexico by providing new generations of innovators with skills in technical design and business savvy.
Jack Willis, MESA advisor at Portales High School shared that the high school Innoventure Challenge final round took place April 5. Teams from Portales, Roswell and Gadsden High Schools competed at the New Mexico State University (NMSU) hosted event. The winning team was Rad Blue Inc., shown on the right, is from Portales High School. They developed the “Nice Needle,” a device designed to make getting a shot less scary. Innoventure encourages teamwork to solve real-life problems and gives students the opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship and innovation. The program nurtures a new generation of innovators with skills in technical design and business and financial savvy, and gives young people a deeper understanding of how technical advances are made and brought to the marketplace. Innoventure has been a core program within Arrowhead Center for more than 15 years, and has served 6-12 grade students throughout New Mexico.
