NM MESA students and advisors have been busy with our Legislative activities. Friday, February 26, 2021 was our inaugural virtual Legislative Forum where students discussed a current bill, HB 83: A Change in Graduation Requirements. In addition, Senator Pete Campos spoke with over 95 MESA students and teachers from across the state in a virtual meet and greet. Senator Campos and Representative D. Wonda Johnson will sponsor a Certificate of Recognition for MESA Day at the Legislature. Click below to replay Senator Campos’ remarks.
On March 4, students, teachers, board members, and staff also met with Representative Johnson for a virtual visit. She shared some legislation she is working on and staff and students from her district were able to discuss events in their MESA programs and communities.
