MESA kiddos from Berrendo Middle School worked together to create 87 Christmas cards to hand deliver to the residents of Mission Arch Care Center in Roswell, NM. Those cards also came with 174 pairs of freshly donated winter warm socks! The socks to share were organized by the Berrendo MS MESA group and the We Help Two Socktopia campaign.
New Mexico MESA enrichment requires service learning as a part of our school-year long STEM programming each year. Service learning helps our MESA schools to find fun and flexible ways of working with their students, schools and the greater community! Berrendo MS youth excelled at this task this year by sharing their STEAM flare through song, cards and social awareness. Their grand finale… another 200 pairs of warm winter socks were donated to the Roswell’s Homeless Shelter!!!
Thanks for setting such a great example of what a caring community looks like Berrendo MS… go Bulldogs!
