Towering Above Finalist Release Form

  • The Towering Above Virtual Engineering Competition is a NM MESA virtual competition held in partnership with Sandia National Laboratories and Los Alamos National Laboratory. All competition finalist interviews will occur via Zoom December 8-10, 2020. The top finalists in each category are invited to participate in the finalist interview round. The interview is required for eligibility to receive an award for this competition. The student will receive a specific log in time with instructions. They will log in and participate in a short interview with event staff and a panel of judges. Students are to answer independently and complete the interview with no outside assistance. They may receive assistance to log in if needed. The interview is closed to the public and all interviews will be recorded.

  • Parent/Guardian Agreement

    As the parent or legal guardian, as appropriate, of the student indicated, I give my consent for him/her to participate in all activities associated with the Towering Above competition. I understand that this program will be delivered in a virtual format, which may involve videoconferencing and program staff communications with students through email. To promote, evaluate, or otherwise describe the Towering Above competition, I give permission to NM MESA, Sandia National Laboratories, National Technology and Engineering Solutions of Sandia, LLC, (NTESS), Los Alamos National Laboratory, and Triad National Security, LLC (Triad) to use in connection with any publication (including but not limited to brochures, booklets, videos, reports, press releases, websites, including social media, and exhibits) any image or recording in which my child, a minor, appears, to use and cite any comment(s), verbal or written, made by said minor about the program, and to use said minor’s name in connection with any publication and in such manner as determined by NM MESA. I hereby release and discharge NM MESA, Sandia National Laboratories, NTESS, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and Triad, their officers, agents, servants, and employees, and persons, with respect to all activities associated with the 2020 Towering Above competition, as well as their heirs, executors, administrators, successors, or assigns, from any cause of action of any nature whatsoever arising from my child’s participation in any and all activities associated with the 2020 Towering Above competition.
