For this public event, UNM invites middle and high school students in sixth thru ninth grades from along the middle Rio Grande valley and extended regions of New Mexico to register to attend this FREE 5th annual MathMovesU event at the University of New Mexico Saturday, March 2nd 2019. This event is organized by UNM School of Engineering Student Success Center and Raytheon.
STEM (science, technology, engineering & mathematics) workshops will introduce and engage students in teamwork and problem solving fun! Sixth through ninth grade students will interact with UNM Engineering student mentors during morning and afternoon activities. A tour of UNM facilities, breakfast snacks and a catered lunch will help make this a STEM-successful day for any student that is registered.

Lunch will be organized for all registered students with MARIOS PIZZERIA.
To include: pizza, salad, bread sticks & a vegetarian pasta options
Students attending a MathMovesU event test self-made devices to determine the best combination of distance and pressure in launching projectiles.

This UNM School of Engineering Student Success Center partnership includes special invitation to our NM MESA students from across the state! The workshops are FREE and NM MESA teachers are encouraged to connect with their Regional Coordinators about transportation for the event. For NM MESA students registered in MIMS, this can be recognized as a workshop/speaker, field trip and leadership event.
