MESA Students from Santo Domingo Middle School visited Santa Fe Community College last week to participate in events at “SFCC Celebrates Native American Week.” Students joined the SFCC community and other visitors to watch Hopi, Cochiti, and Pojoaque traditional dances. A number of the students interviewed were intrigued by the various similarities AND differences between dances they were watching and those of their families and community back home at Santo Domingo Pueblo.
After an enthusiastic lunch in the college’s cafeteria, advisor Gregory Brown and his students from Santo Domingo joined Marcos Maez, Student Recruitment and Outreach Administrator from SFCC, for an engaging and inspiring tour of the campus and its many resources and programs.
Santa Fe Community College continues to work with NM MESA as a valuable partner. They provide space for MESA activities and events and offer a large number of options for students looking at interesting programs and degrees to create a bright future!
