Last week (November 4th and 7th) the Central Inner and Central Outer regions each held a regional rally.
The Albuquerque Balloon Museum was the site for the Central Inner rally. Hundreds of MESA students participated through 3 events (Brain terms and knowledge, Alice programing terms and Prosthetic arm performance). The venue was fantastic and the advisors and students had a great time.
The Albuquerque Aquarium was the site for the Central Outer rally. Over a dozen schools and hundreds of MESA students participated through 3 events (Brain terms and knowledge, Alice programing terms and Prosthetic arm performance) and also had a wonderful filling lunch and completed a service learning event by raking a lot of leaves.
Both events showcased the bright young minds that make up the MESA program. They came to compete, learn and enjoy the regional rally. Also as amazing were the MESA Advisors as they have worked with the MESA students to have them fully prepared.
Magdalena High School MESA students lay their prosthetic arm to rest while completing the Brain exam at the Central Outer Regional Rally November 7. The Magdalena MESA teams placed in a MESA Rally competition for the first time in school history and then these three student scientist-athletes went on to win a football playoff victory over Dora/Elida , 62-0, the following day. Winning is becoming a trend for MHS!
