Cibola HS Team 3 triples at 2016 MESA day Central region

Mar 4, 2016 –

The NM MESA, Inc., Annual Statewide Math and Science MESA Day is designed to encourage the concept of problem solving through teamwork. It salutes NM MESA students for their commitment to academic excellence and reinforces the NM MESA mission of preparing students from historically underrepresented ethnic groups for college majors and careers in math, engineering and science. In keeping with our mission, advisors are encouraged to assemble teams that are representative of the ethnic and gender diversity of their school and MESA enrollment.

This year we held MESA Day competitions at three different sites.  For the North and North Central regions, MESA Day was held at New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, New Mexico. The Southeast and Southwest regions had their MESA Day in Las Cruces at the New Mexico State University. The Central Inner, Central Outer and West regions met at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque for their MESA Day.

The student teams competed in the prepared design event Prosthetic Arm 2.0 and the on-site event, FUNdamentals.
