Family and friends are welcome, at your own cost, on all adventures but the Intel tour. Limited spots available for each adventure, please RSVP to MESA Regional Coordinator Kim Scheerer at email@example.com. All costs will be covered AND there will be a $25 stipend and mileage reimbursement for each activity that middle Rio Grande valley and outlying areas based NM licensed teachers participate in; see details below.
Bosque Hike: meet at Bachechi Open Space for a morning hike under the cottonwoods

Learn about the Rio Grande and experience how local hydrology & entomology research is done with BEMP!
Sturdy shoes, long pants, water bottle and a hat/suncreen are recommended.

Sandia Peak Tram Experience
Date: Wednesday, June 15th 9:15-2:45 pm (meet at the Tram parking lot; $2 parking fee)
Ride with Kim up the Sandia Peak Tramway to the crest to hike, talk geology, consider climate & enjoy a woodsy lunch!
Hiking shoes, water bottle and a hat/sunscreen are recommended. Friends & family welcome at your own cost.
$25 stipend & mileage – limited to 5 teachers; one teacher will walk away with a Sandia Tram pass ($25 value).

Tour of Intel: meet in Rio Rancho for a technology tour
Date: Friday, June 17th 10-12 pm (lunch after)
Lunch included at Il Vicino’s westside location on Corrales Blvd after the tour.
Long pants & closed toed shoes necessary!

Meet with Biopark Education staff, celebrate National Pollinator Week and tour the Bugarium with Kim.

Meet in the courtyard of Centennial Engineering. This informal experience will include the Engineering quad & scientific research poster tour, the Department of Biology & Sustainability (Castetter Hall), College of Education, Student Union Building (SUB & MESA Day competition area), Geology Museum & the Maxwell Museum; if time allows.
Hat/sunscreen, water bottle & good attitude. Friends & family welcome; alumni stories requested!

Robots 3D shares the story of how computer coding and engineering combine to create robotics and human robots! See how real life science and innovative engineering show us success and failure; this show is a great tie in to technology, the scientific method & engineering design. Meet Kim at the Museum for the 1 pm showing & receive information about their Junior Docent & Education programs after.
