Attention Central Outer Regional Middle School Advisors and Students! The 2016 CO Middle School Leadership Summit is slated for January 29, 2016 at the UNM Valencia Campus and YOU are invited to create a workshop in which you will teach other MS advisors and students valuable knowledge, skills and abilities essential to MESA leadership.
Advisors and students should begin planning immediately to lead a workshop in one of the following genre: academic performance, competition preparation, leadership, community service, teamwork. The workshop will last 50 minutes and will include about 30 students. Thus, plan to have enough resources and materials to accommodate a group of this size. A planning meeting for advisors is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. January 15 at the UNM-VC to finalize workshop topics, the Summit format and negotiate logistics for the meeting of 150-200 students.
The Summit will also include two guest speakers and a tour of the UNM Valencia Campus. Lunch will NOT be provided so arrangements will need to be made to bring sack lunches or order lunch from the UNM-VC cafeteria/snack bar.
Each school should bring five to 15 students demonstrating an inclination for leadership and who are intent on leading a workshop as well as learning in the workshops of others. Transportation will be paid for by NM MESA. The event is slated for an 8:45 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. schedule so that students can get to school at a normal time and return in time for school bus transportation home.
Make your plans now to attend this high-energy event which will set the tone for the spring semester, inspiring leadership and top-notch performance this semester and for a lifetime!
