6th-9th grade middle and high school students along the middle Rio Grande valley and extended regions of New Mexico are invited to register to attend this FREE 5th annual MathMovesU playshops event at the University of New Mexico Saturday, March 2nd 2019. This event is organized by UNM School of Engineering Student Services, NM MESA Inc., & Raytheon.
STEM playshops (STEM = science, technology, engineering & mathematics) will introduce and engage students in teamwork and problem solving fun! Sixth through ninth grade students will interact with UNM engineering student mentors during morning and afternoon activites. A tour of UNM facilities, breakfast snacks and a catered lunch will help make this a STEM-successful day for any student that is registered.
Location: The Centennial Engineering Center @ UNM
Registered students, please check-in on the day of event: 9-9:30 am
9 am – 3 pm ♦ grades 6-9 ♦ FREE Parking Map HERE
Lunch will be organized for all registered students with MARIOS PIZZERIA, to include: pizza, salad, bread sticks & a vegetarian pasta options!
This UNM School of Engineering Student Services partnership includes special invitation to our NM MESA students from across the state! The workshops are FREE and NM MESA teachers are encouraged to connect with their Regional Coordinators about the event. This can be recognized as a workshop/speaker, field trip and leadership event in MIMS for NM MESA registered students.
Registration will open in early February; it will remain open until our maximum capacity is reaching.
